Camp!

All of the students were huffing and buffing after the beach games.

Game Rules:

You could only get one ticket and a time Esther was the person for 5 points russel had 25 points 

Eddina had 1 point and each time you got one ticket you had to bring it to the teachers.

And their would be 4 people as the desricters they would try and tag you and if they did then you had to hand over the ticket that had the points on it.

My highlights:
- My first highlight is the Amazing Race

- My second highlight was the swimming

- Going to Cape Reinga

- The big thunder and lighting storm

- I loved doing the kaiaking 

Surfing at Ninety Mile Beach!

-Splash splash the white wash pushes my surf board close to the shore I jump off into the the salty water! I reached the sand and started to paddle close to the surf group. "WOW" I started to turn my board and paddle as fast as I could and boom I felt the white wash touch my feet and I standed on my board and surfed the wave!
#1 First you need to jump on to your board and put your knees on the board and put on leg in front of you and push-up on to your feet and surf the wave!...
I really enjoyed surfing the waves but we had to go and swap with the other group!!....

Advent

Did you know that advent means- The first season of the church year, leading up to Christmas and including the for probity Sundays.

Advent is observed by christian. NINJA CHALLENGE!!!

Today in Manaiakalani time we did this google ninja challenge.
There were 4 levels. The highest level is level 4 this is an picture of it on the top left corner.
I am now a GOOGLE DOC NINJA!!!!
Its was pretty hard and easy at the same time.
We had to edit,highlight,re colour things and make drawings.
The easiest one I did was the first white belt.
It was lots of fun to do I give thanks to Whaea Donna for coming in and teaching us how to do this new fun challenging game. I had done this NINJA CHALLENGE IN ONE WHOLE HOUR!!! and competed it all to the last belt level four black belt. OOOWW YEAAHHH.
I think you guys should try this challenge!!

CENTRAL ZONES ATHELTICS

On the 2nd of November 2018.
We had an Central Zones Atheltics at Kaitaia Primary School.
We did high jump, long jump, shot put, discuc and spirts.
It was a lot of fun.
I came 1st on the 400m race,
2nd on the 100m race,
3rd on the 200m race
And came 6th on the 800m race
I did not come a place on the other courses.
And now I am going to the Nortland Central Zones Atheltics MAYBE!!!

THE BOOK CALLED "CUZ"

This term we have been reading a book called "CUZ" It is about 3 people going on an fishing trip and their boat got caught on fire and burned down and the 2 teenagers thought that their dad/Uncle had died and they had to try and survive in the wild be themselves.

In week 7 we will be going on camp at?
and will be staying there for 4 days.
WE will be making our own dinner and sleeping in tents.

Why Kaitaia is a special place in New Zealand?

Kaitaia is very special place to us because from our Local History that we have been learning in school. I love Kaitaia from it's beautiful scenery and it's amazing stunning beaches.
On the sign that says Welcome it also has two other languages they are Moari, English and Dalmatian
Facts about Kaitaia:

* Ahipara beach,the southern end of Ninety Mlie Beach is 5km west.
* The name Kaitaia means ample food, Kai being the moari word for food!
*We are the second largest town in the far north district, KeriKeri.
*The population here is 6,127!
*The main industries are forestry and tourism
Kaitaia is special to me because my aunty and my uncles and great  parents  lived here at that brings me good memories about them and it makes me feel happy

Term 4

This term we have an senuoir campwe are doing alot of fun things like athelics, clubs,camp and kiwisport!
I am very exitced for camp because we are going on a hike and surfing and we are also going for a swim.

Term 3 Reflection!!!!

This term we had done Art, writing, Manaia Kalani, Clubs and school activtes.
 You guys are maybe thinking what is Manaia Kalani???
Well it is an cyber safety device thing so someone would come in and teach us how to write an successful blog comment to others blogs. People all over the world can see our blog posts and blog comments. If you write an hurtful comment you can delete it but your teacher or your Mania Kalani teacher can still see it so watch out!!!

Art and writing are maybe my second favorite subject in school! we make things like....

It was a really fun thing to do with Mrs Cutler.
Writing hmmm?? I don't have that much things about writing but it is much fun!

Cross-country and athletics are my favorite part of school because you get such a big option to go out of school and go against other schools In collusion I have you know more about what we do in my classroom!

Career Quiz

Last week we had done an career quiz with Mrs Cutler.
We had to answer seventy eight questions that the site had given us and choose between not interested, fairly interested and very interested. It was really hard for me because when you get older and older your dream job will change. Like I want to be an fashion designer or an hair dresser. But what i need to work on is??? to know what shampoo or conditioner that goes with their type of hair not giving them what ever one looks healthier in her hair or even pretty and sounds good.

Animation

Today in kakapo class Manaia kalani came to us and showed us how to make an animation video and we had to make our own animation video.
So what we had to do first was to choose a background and we had to use png to get no background for the little creatures we are going to use for are animation video.
Then we got to make it turn into a real life one here is a photo of mine...

NEWS-PAPER REPORT

WALT: Making an successful News-paper report about Little Red Robin Hood.

Today we had made news-paper report about the Little red robin hood had put on for our school for us all to enjoy and have a good laugh. The three actors names were: Caroline,Sophie and George.
My favourite part of the little movie was when the town crier was reading a letter to King George and said"Hear he hear he hear he" she said. But not after she just made a small mistake she bursted out with tears in her red eyes. The part that mostly got me laughing was when Kaden went up stage and "Played the air violin" It was so funny!!!!
My favourite actor was Sophie because she has a kind and loving personality that really wants me to know more about her.
The part that everyone was laugh at was when they had decided to have an bow and arrow contest and if Red robin hood won then King George will have to give all the money that he stole from the homeless back to them and if won then imprison Little red Robin Hood forever and keep all of the money to build the wall so then the "dangerous animals" Will not be able to get to him and ruin his life.
So after some turns of the bow and arrow contest King George was up to his last shot and he got it in perfectly like all of his other shots. Now it is Little red robin hoods turn but not after she just shot her arrow she missed but no she didn't the arrow did an U- turn and done she won because all of the arrows fell out expect hers so she won the whole contest."NO she had cheated re-do" King George assisted.
But no nothing could make her change her mind of doing an re-do.

PERIA!!!!!!!!!

Go Xanthe Go " I heard them cheering me on so I started to run my hardness and I made it to the river of mud I fell over and a girl tripped over me and fell in the mud. I was so proud of my self because at the starting I was coming 5th place at first. But after two big and small laps i was coming 23rd place and finally finished I was kind of sad because i didn't make it in for davarivallge. I had so much fun

Speeches!!!

blah blah blah I was up in front of Tui and Kakapo class all nervous to share my speech with the judges I looked around to find my friends and out of no where I randomly started my speech then 30 seconds later... I made a huge mistake I looked at my friends and got back to my speech again. After about one minute or so I was at the bottom of my page and almost about to finish so I spoke quickly and then not a couple of seconds later i made a bigger mistake then last time. I went off topic and i had to restart that whole paragraph it was about six sentences long. So after that huge mistake just before I knew I had no chance of getting into the PCS competition. Finally I finished my speech not so long after the huge mistake I made.

Ice skating!!!

Woosh! Woosh! I was skating past others and giving them high fives well skating. When the instruct Jeffery stopped us and played music for musical stat chews. WE all started to dance off the rank but drawing the process some of us fell over on our back and smotach.

When some of us went off we played tag well some of us did. and then we had to stop because ... Some of us got hurt like Emma hurt her rist and how hurt my ankle because i was skating to much and i didn't even fall over once.

We had so much fun at ice skating before in your life?

That was my first time ever doing ice skating in my life!!!

Cross-country!!!

"Go Xanthe Go Xanthe" I heard cheering mud Splashing people huffing and puffing very loud like an bull. I went past 16 girls and I started to sprite my hardness to try and get past the other three girls in front of me. The time I got around the lake I saw six girls past me. So then i had started to sprite again but not so long after i had twisted my ankle two times it was so saw and painful. My best friend piper catched up to me and helped me out and thats how i became 9th place and she came 10th place 
 What did you come in cross-country!!!???.....

Making bread and butter!!!!!!!

Last week we had made some bread and some butter to top up the bread. We made bread and butter because... It had lined up with our local history. Because we had found out how they made bread and butter. WE had to listen carefully to the instruments. We had to do. we needed to have a large plastic lock bag and some salt,sugar,milk, hot water and then we needed it. After that we gave that to one of our teachers and they had needed it together. After that we put it in the oven and ate it after it was cooked!!!

Mental maths

This term we had started a new thing for our mat'hs and literacy contracts i love it so much it helps me more in math's then in literacy.
Sometimes i really don't want to do it but when i have done about six to seven questions I really get into it.
My brain turns all on and i really try my best but when i don't understand it or I don't know the answer to the question we have to highlight it or you can give the answer you think is correct.

SANDRA SILBERZWEIG!!!

Last week in Kakapo class we had researched about an young lady named Sandra
Siblerzweig she was born in 1960 we had not found out what her month of her birth and her date of birth either only the year.
She lived with her two older sons and her husband.
She was an Artist.
She had used a lot of different things like on one check it would be an love heart and on the other side it would be an circle.                                                                                                                                     Her noses would be connected to her eyebrow like how smart is that !!!!.
But what I had found interesting in her pieces of art was that she uses warm and cold and bold colors.
Her eyelashes were the same as her checks they would have a different thing on her other side.

Lines and Right Angels

This week for math contracts we had some practice equals progress book work we had done some lines and right angles. At the start i didn't really know what i was doing but then i went back to the reading were it tells you what it means by lines and right angles. Their was a very difficult one that i couldn't understand that much. here is a photo of it.........






This had told me which one lines up in these parallel?
Then other had also told me that which one lines ups with a perpendicular?
But then a few minutes later i had gotten my answer and i was very proud of myself. What i loved about this book work was that it had challenged me a lot and i believed in myself and i had gotten though the whole thing by myself.

I love it when we get to do some challenging things like the book work. Sometimes i really dont like doing book work but once when i get into it i would turn on my brain and think not race because i want to get it correct sometimes.

!This end of term writing!

This week we had to write a end of term writing about this therms learning. This term we had Literacy contracts we also had math contracts. We had gotten to pick what we could do first or second. We had a lot of sports like kio-rahi, Netball and fitness/cross country and athletes training. We had also had science these last four weeks. we had made olden day popcorn and honey crunch with Mrs Dromgool, then we made ice-cream with mrs Watson  and burned all different kinds of fabric with Mrs Jyken and we also made borax crystals with Mrs Nketalls This term was amazing.

Today at school we had a matariki session with Whaea Ali. Whaea Ali had talked to us about how to make lip balm/medicinal balm. She had also told us stories about the seven matariki stars. Some tribes tell stories about the seven matariki stars and some other tribes tell stories about nine matariki stars constellation. We had also learnt a new song called No te Houhonutang. The ingredients that we had used was coconut oil and lavender essentials oil and kawakawa essentials oil and lucky but not last bees wax. Whaea Ali had also told us that you could use coconut oil for when you have fake eyelashes to remove them. This was a very very fun day with Whaea Ail.

!MY AFRICAN ART!

    Last term at school we had created some African art we had to have some nice freactures, Geometric shapes, bright colours and a symmetrical designs, to be successful.

WE all had alot of fun doing this piece of art. we were  aloud to look online for some Ideas.
After everyone had finished their African art they had all looked so cool and colorful. Then we had hang them all up on a wall and when you were on the other side of the classroom it was like a very very bright neon sun.

I had really really enjoyed the African art that we had done...

MY LEARNING

  This year we have been having literacy contracts on google sites.

I think the literacy contracts are easier than math contracts because we have been having more time on literacy than math.

I have set myself a goal to finish all of my literacy contracts all year. Next year will be to finish all of my math contracts. 

I love  school a lot I would want to come to school everyday if i could i would do it like totally.

This years learning

                    This year my learning has been going perfectly. I have finished all of my literacy contracts. I have been focusing on my learning and i have been sitting next to Priyanci in class because we do not muck around in literacy or maths time. This year i have also been learning more about te reo Maori and my whanau because some of my whanau memebers from the past have been in the New Zealand history like: Hone heke and Tamiti waka nene.

There has been so much learning and history in these past few weeks. We have been learning about World War ll these few weeks.

!Clay art!

Three weeks ago we made some Maori designs that lined up with our whanau relationship.

I had made a nice medium sized hook because my great great grandfather Tamati Waka Nene had the exacted same hook that i had created. It had taken a lot of time to think of what features it had on the green-stone. Here is a picture of my creation of the clay art.

I had used a sharp 2b pencil to carve the features of the clay. We used air dry clay to make the creation easy to use. We also used a rolling pin to get the curved edges then used a little bit of water to make it smooth on the sides.

Then we had to wait until the clay dries then we could be able to hang it up on a wall that could be seen every-time you come into the classroom.

This clay art had turned out just as i had wanted it to i love this so so much and i had not given up.
