Tessellation

In Kakapo Class we have been doing tesselations for maths.
Tesselation is when you create a pattern that has no gaps like our ones.
We got to use bright or dark colours and our focus for this term was 2D and 3D geometry shapes so we had mixed those two together and made these beautiful pieces of art.

My Weekend

I heard...
Parents cheering for their kids and Gymnasts cheering for their teammates.
I felt...
Nervous when I was about to go and present and perform.
I saw...
Gymnast performing their dances well and trying not to stuff up.
I wondered...
If anyone got 1st place from our club.
Do you do gymnastics?

3D Shape Creaction!

A couple of weeks ago we had created 3D geometry shapes.
I had made a mini version of the weet-bix bites cereal box.
This was challenging and also fun.
Follow these steps if you would like to re-create this geometry shapes.
Step One:
Get a net of a shape and if you like then color or doddle on it.
Step Two:
Glue down all of the flaps in so then you will not see the flaps outside of the shape.
Final Step:
Leave the glue to dry. After that, you can put it on display just like what I had done.
You can make these fun shapes at home or at school.
My most challenging part of making these was to glue the flaps because when I had glued all of them expect one it will was really hard to not break the other flaps.
